PDi2 Engages Mike Beehler & Associates
Relationship to help support PDi2 objectives
Coopersville, MI – July 28, 2020 – Power Delivery Intelligence Initiative (PDi2) is pleased to announce an enhanced working relationship with Mike Beehler of Mike Beehler & Associates (MB&A) to support PDi2’s efforts to generate industry awareness of our organization and help communicate our messages to utility executives and technical leadership. The objective is to enhance power reliability and resiliency through strategic undergrounding supported by solid data. Mike will undertake several projects and act as a primary spokesperson for PDi2 as part of this business arrangement.
“One of PDi2’s goals is to feature and promote projects that increase momentum in the electric utility market for undergrounding – based on data – as a key strategy to promote resiliency and reliability for utility customers and other stakeholders,” said David Lindsay, Chairman, PDi2. “Mike Beehler has the experience and industry knowledge to help drive us toward achieving this important goal.”
MB&A will be working on two important objectives on PDi2’s behalf:
- Engage North American utility executives regarding cost effective T&D resiliency
- Provide data and information to industry leaders to support strategic undergrounding as a key part of their commitment to new resiliency programs that benefit all customers
Mike Beehler is a registered professional engineer that has designed and built underground electric transmission and distribution assets for decades. He has served as a trusted advisor and consultant to senior technical leaders and executives in the power industry for over 20 years. Mike is recognized as a thought leader and author on several emerging technologies and industry topics and recently published the white paper “Making the Case for Underground Distribution.”
PDi2 is currently comprised of professionals from the power industry value chain including materials suppliers, cable makers, installers, equipment and accessory manufacturers and construction and engineering firms – including Borealis, Burns & McDonnell, Dow, G&W Electric, Haugland Energy, IMCORP, Power Delivery Consultants, Quanta Services, Southwire and TT Technologies. The group adheres to a stringent anti-trust policy as a condition of membership. New members are welcome to join this growing initiative.
